Ogunbiyi Olamilekan Scores 5.0 CGPA To Emerge LASUSTECH Overall Best Student

Mr Ogunbiyi Jubril Olamilekan, a student studying Accounting in the College of Applied Social Sciences, has emerged as the overall best student for the 2022/23 session in Lagos State University of Science and Technology (LASUSTECH). He scored 5.0 CGPA to emerge as the overall best student. He was honoured at the inaugural edition of the institution’s founders’ day on Friday. Announcing the outstanding performance of the young Accounting student, Prof. Olumuyiwa Omotola Odusanya, Vice Chancellor, LASUSTECH, said the university prides in excellencw, the need to celebrate the institution’s scholars.

“As a university of excellence, we are celebrating excellence. The best overall student will receive one year of zero fee payment. The overall best student is Ogunbiyi Jubril Olamilekan with CGPA 5.0 in Accounting, College of Applied Social Sciences”

LASUSTECH VC said.

It is my pleasure to welcome you and to say that you have done well and to ask you to maintain the grade. Congratulations”, he added.

Prof. Odusanya also announced that 67 of the school’s students that have 4.5 CGPA and above will get 50 percent reductions in their school fees. 67 of our students made the CGPA of 4.5 and above and all of them will get 50% reduction in school fees”, he said.

The institution’s registrar, Mr. David Semawon Ogungbe, who read out the names of the students, announced that the 67 students are to pick up their letter of recognition as scholars of the school for the 2023/2024 session. Prof Adebisi Balogun, former Vice Chancellor, Federal University, Akure, 2007/2012, and member, National Research Board, endowed scholarship for the best five students for 2022/23 academic session in each of the colleges in the institution.

Each of the five students: Ogunbiyi Jubril Olamilekan Department of Accounting, College of Applied Social Sciences; David Olawale Olarinmaye, Department of Horticulture, College of Agricultural Science; Emmanuel Olusegun Adenaiya, Department of Architecture, College of Environmental Design & Technology; Eneji Isieka Obiepo, Department of Mechatronics Engineering, College of Engineering & Technology and Samuel Omesa Joseph, Department of Physical Science, College of Basic Sciences, will get N75, 000 per session. From current session, the LASUSTECH VC also announced N1million scholarship endowment for students of Epe extraction in the institution in honour of his late mother, Mrs Adetola Odusanya. The beneficiaries will get N100, 000 each for five session.
